Pro-Coach & Test Preparation

Class 1 Police Qualification, Collision Investigator and Advanced Vehicle Examiner | IAM RoadSmart-  Examiner, Masters Mentor, Masters Distinction, National Observer Assessor

Katrina comes from a motorcycling family and her journey into the world of two-wheelers began when she received a Suzuki TS50cc as a gift for her 16th birthday. This came with the condition that she would receive training before riding on the road, which led her to complete an RAC/ACU training course and then successfully pass her moped test.

At the age of 17, Katrina began a career with the Metropolitan Police, serving for over 30 years. A significant part of her police service, spanning 17 years, was dedicated to being a Traffic officer. During this period, she achieved the esteemed Advanced Class 1 qualifications for both motorcycle and car. Katrina was also qualified as a Collision Investigator and Advanced Vehicle Examiner.

In 2003, while holding the rank of sergeant, Katrina played a pivotal role in setting up and managing BkieSafe-London, contributing to course content and routes. Her commitment to motorcycle safety extended to national BikeSafe events, a commitment she maintained until her promotion and departure from Traffic duty in 2007.

Katrina extended her passion for advanced rider training outside of work, holding a RoSPA Diploma from 2001 to 2010 and serving as an instructor on the RoSPA Diploma course.

After retiring from the police as a Chief Inspector in 2014, Katrina began working for Motorrad Tours, where she leads motorcycle tours on behalf of World of BMW.

Her dedication to promoting safe riding led her to become a volunteer for IAM RoadSmart, where she served as both a motorcycle and car examiner. Having then achieved the Motorcycle Masters Distinction and National Observer qualifications, she expanded her role as a motorcycle Masters mentor and National Observer Assessor.

In 2022/2023, Katrina took on the role of IAM RoadSmart Area Service Delivery Manager for the South-East Region for 14 months. In this capacity, she ensured quality assurance, including conducting masters tests and National Observer assessments. Her experiences in this role enhanced her skills, making her a valuable asset as she returns to her roles as a volunteer Examiner, Masters mentor, and NOA for both cars and motorcycles.

Katrina's passion for riding and driving, coupled with her desire to promote safer practices, has only grown over the years. She is thrilled to be joining Motorcycle Buddies, where she can continue to share her expertise and enthusiasm with fellow riders. Her impressive motorcycle fleet includes three BMWs, a KTM, and most recently, a fully electric ZERO SR-F motorcycle.
